I have been an art teacher at Plainfield High School in Plainfield Indiana for 20 years.  It is a job that I enjoyed initially, but it has grown into something that I love; in my classroom and with my students is one of my favorite places to be.  I usually teach all of the painting and photography classes, but teaching AP Studio is my favorite art class to teach.  Deciding to teach AP Studio was one of the scariest transitions that I've made professionally, but untimately it was the best choice that I ever made  as a teacher.  I have been teaching AP Studio for nine years.

Along with being an art teacher I am also an artist.  I included some examples of my work below.  I love to work realistically, usually focusing on people or dogs.  My favorite mediums for this type of work include charcoal, pastels and acrylic.  I also enjoy photography and use my SLR Nikon D5500 for personal use mostly.
